Our Story

Fresh. Local. Sustainable.

Those are our guiding principles. It sounds simple, but it's for sure the road less travelled.

Why buy food or flowers that have been flown to us from around the world when we can get it right here where we live? Why not support local farmers and businesses?

Now don't get me wrong, there are items that we just can't get here. I'm not going to turn down a mango or a blood orange in season. I will however, choose to buy strawberries from a local grower when they're in season instead of getting something grown in a greenhouse in Mexico. If I'm really on the ball, I will preserve some to enjoy throughout the rest of the year.

Same goes for flowers. While we have a shorter growing season here in Canada, I believe that we can grow some wonderful stuff. And like with food, being able to enjoy them in the off season takes a little advanced planning. Flowers and fruit are allowed to dry, wreaths are formed and wood is sliced.

Our winter products are a mix of preserved items and a few fresh bits that are tough enough to handle our harsh weather.
